Install Updates in Windows 10

Windows 10 users can find Windows Update feature in “Settings”.

Simply go to “Start” menu and then click “gear” icon to go to settings. You will see “Settings” window on your computer screen. You need to click “Update & Security” to open it. Below “Update Status” there is a button “Check for Updates”. Click the button to check for updates. You can install update this way but you should know that in Windows 10 updates are installed automatically.

Install Updates in Windows 8, 7 and Vista

 If your computer is running Windows 8, 7 or Vista then the above mentioned method will not work for you. You will go to Control Panel to install updates. Once there, then choose “Windows Update”. You can check for updates by simply clicking Check for Updates. There are automatic installation and manual installation of updates. It mainly depends on your version of Windows. If updates are not installed automatically then you can install updates by simply clicking the “Install Updates” button. 

Install Updates in Windows XP, 2000, ME and 98

Windows XP, 2000, ME and 98 require users to go to “Windows Update” website in order to check for and install updates. Once there, users of above mentioned versions of Windows can check for and install updates. But here it is important to mention that updates for the above mentioned versions of Windows may be available but Microsoft does support them anymore.

Again the process of installing updates is very easy.

As stated earlier, there is two way to install updates. Updates are installed automatically or you can install updates manually. There is also free software updater program which is not a bad option. People use such programs to install updates. You can also set up your Windows to install updates on Patch Tuesday.
